まず胸を打たれたのは、遠くネパールの鉄砲水被災地へと飛び立った第374空輸航空団のC-130Jだ。緊急救助資材をパンパンに詰め込み、迷わず大空へと駆け上がっていくその逞しい後ろ姿。神奈川の防災訓練「ビッグレスキューかながわ2026」への参加も含め、誰かの命を繋ぐために即座に動く彼らの姿には、いつだって理屈抜きの敬意が湧いてくる。

As September began, one would hope for the crisp arrival of autumn breezes, yet the skies above Yokota Air Base operated at full throttle, completely unconcerned with seasonal transitions. Glancing over the flight logs while sipping chilled barley tea by the window here in Mizuho Town, I was utterly captivated by the dense drama of the past 24 hours.

What moved me first was the 374th Airlift Wing's C-130J taking off for flood-devastated regions in Nepal. Packed to the brim with emergency rescue gear, its resolute climb into the vast sky was inspiring. Combined with their participation in Kanagawa's disaster drill "Big Rescue Kanagawa 2026," watching them act swiftly to save lives commands unreserved respect.

Furthermore, the tripartite air mobility exercise "Mobility Astra 2026" officially commenced during the day.
